In the Tantric vision, there are two goals in human life: material success and spiritual liberation.
The first goal is to learn how to successfully overcome challenges.
Creating sufficient harmony and balance between work, leisure, family and simply enjoying life.
Tantra does not reject this objective, and provides tools to achieve it.
The second objective is very different:
To achieve a spiritual liberation that implies a deep, quiet joy, totally independent of life's circumstances, a joy of simply existing, in the present moment, free from any suffering created by the mind.
Tantra does not regard these goals as necessarily mutually exclusive.
Indeed, there's nothing to stop you striving for greater happiness and success while cultivating a practice that will enable you to love your life deeply, even if it doesn't turn out as you wish.
Being fully present
Perhaps it's the simple ability to allow each moment of life to flow through us that could be Tantra's gift to the modern world.
Tantra's way of accepting what we might otherwise reject, stirring up things we might have ignored and letting emotions be in motion could be a practice to be used in everyday life, whether at work, while eating, on the bus, during our leisure time. with our loved ones...
Non-duality, tantra and mindfulness
Non-duality encourages us to observe ourselves and the way we act, think and live in the world.
Tantra encourages each person to experience their emotions fully, and therefore to live each moment of life to the full.
Rather than repressing or repelling emotions, Tantric traditions seek to gently tame them, so that as they rise to the surface of our consciousness, they are more easily processed and released.
Emotions are, after all, energy in motion, and if we allow them to move and circulate freely, our mind can also begin to acquire the ability to move and circulate.
Non-duality is the recognition that, beneath the multiplicity and diversity of experience, there exists a single, infinite and indivisible reality.
Nature is pure consciousness.
Recognition of this reality is not only the source of lasting happiness for all; it is the foundation of peace between individuals, communities and nations, and must be the foundation of any lasting relationship with the environment.
Tantric touch is fully present
Tantric touch is conscious touch.
There is no concentration on performance or goals.
Both giver and receiver are fully in the present moment and open to thoughtful, respectful connection.
When conscious Tantric touch is used between partners, there is more space to feel pleasure, emotion, loving contact and happiness.
In Tantra, we are fully present in the moment, breathing with our partner, allowing the touch to flow.
The more we are present as partners in the present moment, the more our partner will feel held and safe to surrender to the sensual and nourishing bliss through Tantric touch.
